Excited to share a new element of our IKO IKO website… BLEACHED BLEACHED
As a way to join the spirit behind IKO IKO with work by artists we admire, we have created an online journal called BLEACHED BLEACHED. It is a light catalog of images by an individual artist presented monthly on our website and as a downloadable pdf. To bleach = to remove the color, to alter the fiber, to change what was the original.
ISSUE NO. 1:
This inaugural issue features work by Japanese photographer Akio Nishimoto. Using a variety of old and new digital camera technology his image-making shares the texture around a day, unfolding and folding back in. “Untitled” is a series about the ongoing observations within his daily parameter—fading light, crawling geckos, nature passages, quiet corners and curious interior still life.
Akio Nishimoto trained at the London International Film School in film production and lighting design. He lives and works in Amagasaki, Japan.
