To inaugurate December, artist Katy Krantz has created a diverse arrangement of nonfunctional and functional ceramic works on the idea of “the centerpiece.” Her quixotic shapes range from serving dishes, vase containers, gigantic beads and abstract sculptures—the connecting point being her unusual scale and a surface treatment that reflects a curiosity in material and an obvious trace of process.
